Usually some mobile phones when you bought it is locked to one network provider.
This will prohibits you from using another sim card other than the network it is locked to.
Remote unlocking makes your moblie phone openline.
Any sim card can now be used. However, if your mobile phone is currently under warranty with that network, most often than not it will void your warranty.So, pls. keep that in mind.
By the way, remote unlocking is safe once it is done correctly.
